Job Title: Video Editor

Reports to: Director of Audio & Visual

Department: Media Production

Summary:

Responsible for editing video and audio content to create high-quality multimedia projects that align with Messenger International's mission and vision.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review raw footage and select the best takes.
  • Edit footage, add transitions, effects, and audio to create engaging videos.
  • Collaborate with creative team to understand project goals and objectives.
  • Ensure edited videos meet quality and brand standards.
  • Deliver edited content within specified deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve technical issues in the editing process.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and new editing techniques.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Production, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in video editing.

 

General Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills for collaborating with team members.
  • Understanding of storytelling and narrative structure.
  • Reliable transportation.

Spiritual Requirements:

  • Signed acknowledgement of Messenger's Statement of Faith and Staff Covenant/Lifestyle Agreement forms.
  • Signed acknowledgement of policies and procedures as stated in our employee handbook.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to function independently.
  • Able to sit for extended periods during editing sessions.

Work Location:

Nashville, Tennessee area. Must be able to present evidence of identity and legal right to work in the United States.

Job Type/Schedule:

Full-time, 40-hour work week with the potential for occasional overtime. This is a non-exempt, hourly position and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
